Johnson's Locust Hall Micro Wedding: Meghan + Kyle
I’m looking back at this gorgeous day- the day Meghan and Kyle decided getting married was not going to wait. With just as much joy, attention to detail, purposefulness, and love- they were married in the winter of 2020 (aka Covid times). But the story gets better- the following year, they would get the celebration they deserved with extended family and friends at the same great venue- Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm. There were so many negatives to Covid times, but the one (and maybe only) amazing positive was the chance for a second wedding! I would jokingly say to clients (pre-Covid), “This was SO much fun! Let’s do it again next year!” Well, for some clients during theses times, it actually happened!
Running Deer Golf Club, Pittsgrove, NJ: Evan + Gwen
On a gorgeous fall morning, a gorgeous bride and her gorgeous bridesmaids began to prepare for Gwen and Evan’s special day. That was a lot of gorgeous, but it’s fitting! With her girls in burgundy gowns, and Gwen in her stunning Calla Blance bridal gown, they headed to Our Lady of Peace Parish for nuptials and Even’s first glance at his soon-to-be wife! After their catholic ceremony, Evan and Gwen were officially Mr. and Mrs.! We headed over to Running Deer Golf Club for their reception. Running Deer has some of the best sunsets and I’m a big fan of all of their great photo op areas accessible via golf carts! Who doesn't love a golf cart ride? Gwen showed off her amazing twirling skills and was the absolute definition of a beautiful bride! As cocktail hour was celebrated outdoors, Gwen and Evan joined their party. Their details included wine bottles, corks, navy, burgundy, and gold accents with twinkle lights- so romantic. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Waggoner!

Quarantined Photographer: B + K Tie the Knot!
I haven’t shot a wedding since March 7th. Last week, a friend of mine sent me a photo of a Barbie photo shoot by a photographer she saw on Facebook and told me I should do this. Being a photographer in so many photography groups- this type of shoot is nothing new, but then I thought about a quote that I read recently in an overdue library book sitting on my nightstand. In the book, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, she says, “It might have been done before, but it hasn’t been done by you!” Being that we were on ‘spring break’ and I was fresh out of crafts, recipes and just any fun ideas in general, I asked my six-year-old daughter if she wanted to do a Barbie wedding photoshoot and she was so much more excited than I thought she would be. I made sure let her have a say in every shot, resist fixing every last thing- like how I wanted to use my vintage 80’s bridal Barbie because she already had a ring and earrings. My daughter let me know that we could use the wedding dress, but not my old Barbie, and that we would hot glue a gem on her hand as a wedding ring. Or how I asked her to write “Just Married” on a sheet of paper and she misspelled it “Just Meread.” Those touches made it so much better than every perfectly placed detail. I knew she was all in when she told me she didn’t want to stop for a lunch break. By the afternoon we had completed our shoot which we couldn’t be happier with. We shared it on Facebook and within two days, it’s been shared over 100 times and the post has reached 17.9K people (according to Facebook). Many commented on how it made their day or made them smile and that makes me so happy! I decided to share it here- I hope it brings you a smile too or makes you forget about our crazy, current situation for just a moment (sorta like when you watch the first episode of Tiger King).
Update: Our photoshoot has been featured on NJ.com with over 61K views!
Medford Lakes, NJ Engagement: Katie and Joe
Sometimes it’s really funny how things work out- on the day that my family officially moved to Medford, I had Katie and Joe’s engagement session… in Medford! We started out at Cathedral of the Woods in Medford Lakes, which has gorgeous gardens and just completely peaceful and quiet. They brought along their pup, Koda, who was camera ready with his bowtie and just so excited to a part of the engagement session. After an outfit change and a short car ride, we arrived to Lake 3 to watch the sunset. Katie and Joe strolled along the beach and cuddled on the docks, which made for some Nicholas Sparks worthy moments. What a great way to feel so welcomed into my new neck of the woods. I’m beyond excited for their wedding in June 2019!
Collingswood Grand Ballroom Wedding: Meg + Eric
Meg and Eric have been wedding planning from Chicago, so when their wedding day arrived and I finally got to meet them in person- I was beyond excited. Meg is the kind of girl you've always wanted to be friends with- she's so funny, sweet, and shares all of her emotion- she lights up a room! When Meg and Eric get together their chemistry is undeniable! They are so sweet and kind to each other and I'm beyond happy for them- I can't imagine how happy their family is for them, witnessing a perfect match.
Both bride and groom started at The Westin hotel in Mount Laurel, NJ for their getting ready. Meg and her bridesmaids prepped and shared so many special moments while Eric got.... a haircut in his hotel room! I was so excited for my second photographer, Danielle, that she was going to be able to capture it (maybe a little jealous too)! It's a wedding day first, and soooo much fun. Meg put on her gorgeous gown at the Collingswood Grand Ballroom before meeting her groom outside for their First Look, with their family and friends watching from afar. We were able to capture their bridal party, bride and groom portraits, and family portraits before rain clouds started moving in.
Their indoor ceremony, complete with a beautifully decorated chuppah by Leigh Florist, and the romantic candles and twinkle lights at the Collingswood Grand Ballroom, made for the perfect setting for their "I do"s. Their reception started with the most fun hora, followed by a lively dance floor and soooo much celebrating for our happy couple. Thank you so much to Mr. and Mrs. Gold for letting us capture your best day ever!
