Asbury Park Engagement Session: Eric and Becky

Color. Art. Music. Asbury Park.

Who doesn't love it there? Becky and Eric are artistic, colorful, expressive- if they were going to be a place, they would be Asbury Park. I was ecstatic for this engagement session, because I've known Becky for so many years and I knew she would be down for anything. Cue the rain. The forecast called for a 20% chance of rain- if you've been reading my blog posts, you might notice a common theme- how annoying I find the forecast :) As I drove to Asbury Park, I convinced myself the rain I was driving through must have just been passing showers, but they didn't end. As we met in the Convention Center through raindrops, we decided we would just shoot and make it work (after all, that's what would happen on a wedding day!) It's not the easiest shoot, having to hold your bag the entire time, putting your camera away after every couple of shots, but it makes every shot much more intentional. I couldn't be more happy that we decided to shoot in the rain. It made a unique session even more memorable.  Thank you so much to Becky, Eric, and the lovely Mackenzie for braving the weather!

It's a good day when you can have the entire boardwalk to yourselves.

Camden County Boathouse Wedding: Katherine & Emanuel

It was a sunny and humid afternoon as Katherine stepped into her stunning gown, the final step of getting ready before leaving for the Camden County Boathouse on Cooper River, to marry Emanuel. Her bridesmaids by her side, in shades of blush, with finishing gold details. While the girls were getting ready, Emanuel was getting ready himself, as well as getting, their son ready. As a momma, I know how precious it is to see your hubby and child together, and I am so happy we could capture these moments for the boys to remember and for Katherine to see!

The plan was to see each other at the aisle for the first time, but with reports of harsh thunderstorms just hours away, Katherine and Emanuel opted to do a First Look and boy, am I glad they did. Not just because their bridal party photographs were absolutely gorgeous outside before the storm rolled in, but because their First Look was so beautiful- on a dock, with their son, and the excitement that he just couldn't hold in. Not to mention, they attended their cocktail hour- sounds like a pretty perfect wedding day to me! Katherine and Emanuel shared their first dance and I nearly cried behind my camera (how I spend many weekends). They have a love that is so sweet and I was so thankful to be the one to capture the love story of their wedding day AND their first professional family photograph- what an honor! Here's to many, many years of happiness and health! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Rivera!

Congress Hall Cape May Wedding Photographer: Vinny & Cassie

When I photographed Cassie and Vinny's engagement session in Philadelphia this past winter- I instantly fell for them. They are a "cool" couple- how "uncool" does this make me sound? Let me explain... they know every worthy place to visit in Philly. Their engagement session was anything but typical. They planned out three very specific locations- Philadelphia's Magic Gardens (maybe one of the coolest mosaic art galleries EVER), Percy Street Bar (one of the best BBQ restaurants), and Tattooed Mom (a bar with graffiti everywhere)- can you say, a photographer's dream? Not only are they total foodies, they also love to travel together and have been all over the globe. See- you totally want to be friends with them now. Did I mention their dance moves?? Well, you'll just have to see for yourself. Besides all of the aforementioned facts that make them awesome- they have a love for each other that is just adorable to see in person. During their First Look- I was teary eyed behind my camera. Have I mentioned I love First Looks? Enough already- take a look at their colorful wedding at one of the coolest venues I've had the privilege to shoot- Congress Hall in Cape May.
