Creating a Nursery
It's been a little over a month since our baby girl made her debut into the world. It's funny because the evening I completed the finishing touches of her nursery, and photographing it- I went into labor. She's a smart girl- she wanted to make sure her room was perfect, and I thank her for that! I was so afraid it wouldn't get done on time considering we had just moved into our house not a month prior! I'm thrilled with the way her nursery came out- I have to thank Pinterest for the countless/sleepless nights I spent looking for inspiration. One of my favorite things about the nursery is the gorgeous artwork from my friends and family. It really makes Baby C's nursery feel like it was made just for her!

Friday Bride Day- Pinterest Inspiration
Do photographers like when you share your Pinterest boards with them? I LOVE Pinterest. I'm actually sorta sad because it didn't exist three years ago when I was a bride! I think Pinterest has definitely stepped up the game in DIY weddings and I love it! Many of my brides share their Pinterest boards with me and I think it's great because it gives me a better idea of their style and if they are photography pins- a better idea of the type of photographs they would like.
On the other hand, it can also hinder a photographer's creativity if you give them a 10-page printout of your pins and you want every shot on the page. Compromise is the way to go in this situation. Pick a handful of your absolute favorite pins to share with your photographer, and let your photographer put their own creative spin on it! That way they are not being put into the uncomfortable place of recreating someone else's work and they can use their own creativity, to give you something unique!
Here's an example of a Pinterest inspired shot with my gorgeous bride, Jess, and her groom, Justin. P.S. She MADE this sign- so creative!
Pink or Blue??
Let me start by saying, when I got married- there was no Pinterest! So when it came time for our gender reveal party, I started pinning everything! On a Thursday morning, my husband and I went for our 20-week ultrasound. The ultrasound technician put a piece of paper with the gender in a sealed envelope. A week prior, I bought two pairs of mini Converse- one pink and one blue and dropped them off to my neighbor. Only TWENTY FOUR short hours until I would know ... pink or blue. I dropped off the super secret envelope to my trusty neighbor and she wrapped the appropriate pair of Converse. Here are the pictures below that tell a beautiful story about how we got to know the gender of our sweet baby alongside our family and friends. We can't wait for the best part of all... in September when we meet the cutie!
It's a GIRL!
